Is AudioPen free?
Yes — there's a free plan with no credit card required, covering the core voice-to-polished-text flow with some limits. Prime lifts the limits: 15-minute recordings, unlimited storage, uploads and custom styles. See the full comparison on our pricing page.
How secure is my data?
Voice notes are auto-deleted from the servers soon after they're processed, and stored notes are encrypted at rest. Nothing you record is shared with other users.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. The official policy is blunt: notes are "never used to train any AI." The AudioPen AI processes your recording to write your note — and that's where it ends.
Does AudioPen work in multiple languages?
Yes — it understands most major languages, and you can set the output language separately. Speak in one language, get the note written in another. Our languages guide covers how to set it up.
Is there a native mobile app?
Yes — official apps exist for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (App Store) and for Android (Google Play), alongside the web app, a Mac app and a Chrome extension.
If I buy Prime on the web, does it work everywhere?
Yes. One Prime pass covers every platform — sign in with the same account on the native apps, web app, Mac app or Chrome extension and Prime is active on all of them.
Can I upload audio files?
Prime members can upload up to 100 audio files every 4 weeks, at up to 100 MB per file — old voice memos and meeting recordings become clean notes.
How many writing styles are there?
A preset library covers the common shapes — summaries, drafts, journals, lists — and you can create custom styles, including one trained on samples of your own writing.
Can I use AudioPen instead of typing?
On iPhone, iPad and Apple Silicon Macs (M1+), yes: the AudioPen keyboard and Voice Typing mode let you dictate polished text into any app.
