The Android listing updated to version 2.1.1 with "voice typing improvements" — dictation polish is clearly the current focus, mirroring what Voice Typing already does on Apple Silicon Macs.

Current lineup — verified snapshot
AudioPen runs on 7 platforms with one account: the web app, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, Android (listing at version 2.1.1), the Mac desktop app and the Chrome extension. Pricing is pass-based — $33 for 3 months, $99 for a year, $159 for 2 years — with a free plan that needs no credit card. The official site currently lists persona pages for writers, lawyers, therapists, creators and salespeople, plus comparison pages, a testimonials page and webhook documentation. We re-verify this snapshot on a recurring schedule and date-stamp every check.

The native-app era
AudioPen grew well beyond the original web app: official native apps shipped for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch — including the system-wide voice keyboard that types what you dictate into any app — and for Android. A Mac app added Voice Typing on Apple Silicon (M1 and newer), and the Chrome extension brought one-click recording to desktop browsers, which remains the recommended setup on Windows. Along the way the product picked up audio uploads (100 files every 4 weeks on Prime), SuperSummaries, custom styles and Zapier integration.

Launch: built in half a day, famous overnight
Louis Pereira built the first version of AudioPen in roughly 12 hours and launched it publicly. It reportedly earned $73,000 in its first two months, picked up a Product Hunt top-post badge, and grew into today's 200,000+ user base — still a solo-run product.

How AudioPen ships (and how we track it)
AudioPen has no public release-notes page of its own, so updates surface in three places: the app store listings (version numbers and "What's New" notes), the product itself, and the founder's posts on X. This page consolidates those signals into one verified timeline — each entry carries its sources, dates reflect when a change was actually confirmed, and nothing here is back-dated. If you spot a shipped change we haven't logged, the contact page is the fastest way to flag it.
Waiting on a specific fix or platform? New versions land in the apps first — grab them from the download page, or start in the web app right now.
